Thank you for visiting my website. For over 15 years I’ve enjoyed helping clients of all ages develop their fitness in creative and sustainable ways. This work has mostly been part-time, which has been ideal as it’s allowed me to focus more energy on helping a small number of clients.
As a competitive 100m sprinter, I’m still able to offer fast running and HIIT sessions to motivate all ages, including fun and interactive workouts for kids. I also offer slower-paced trail running and walking.
I normally tailor PT sessions to the individual, so feel free to contact me to discuss specifics. I’m based in Marlbrook, close to the Lickey Hills, Barnt Green, Rubery and Catshill.
Fitness Coaching
This is for clients looking for a more advisory approach. It’s a series of conversations relating to all training that you do, whether at home, running, gym or sports. The focus is on sharing your fitness journey with someone who can offer you tailored advice on all key aspects of fitness and health.
These conversations are well suited to sessions involving a mix of low and medium intensity effort – e.g. walk-jog intervals. They can also take place partly online or by phone.

My Fitness Background
I began my fitness career in 2005-6, working in the holiday industry as a kids’ multi-sports instructor. I then qualified as a personal trainer in 2007, and worked for Nuffield gyms in London and Birmingham until 2010 – teaching classes, doing fitness testing, training clients, and leading running sessions.
In 2011 I went fully freelance with my fitness work. Around this time, I also started a piano teaching business which gradually became my main work. So my personal training became more of a sideline, especially towards the end of the 2010s, as I devoted more time to my own sports interests.
In 2021 I started doing more PT with young people. At that time, sports clubs were restricted, so there was an increased demand for home sessions. I was looking for a new challenge, and as I could offer fun sessions combining fitness, strength exercises and martial arts, my training became popular with parents looking for a more creative instructor.
Examples of recent clients include:
– Two brothers aged 10 and 12 doing speed and strength training for rugby;
– A 17 year old doing trail running;
– Clients in their 30s and 40s doing circuits and speed work.
Summary Of My Personal Training Experience & Qualifications
2005-2006: Multi-Sports Activity Instructor with In2Action, leading fun sessions with kids & families at hotels in Turkey and Fuerteventura.
2007: REPS Level 3 Personal Training Diploma with Lifetime Health.
2008-10: Fitness Class Instructor & Personal Trainer at Nuffield Health Gyms in London & Birmingham. Further certification including Circuit Training Diploma with YMCA.
2010-present: Freelance PT with adults & kids, including running, circuits and martial arts.
First Aid and DBS certified (both updated 2025)
Other sports interests: mountain biking, table tennis and parkour.

More About My Sprinting & Martial Arts
As a sprinter, I compete for Bromsgrove & Redditch in 100m and 200m. In summer 2025 I achieved my best times since 2019, placing high in the UK rankings for my age group (40s). I also competed in the British Masters for the first time. This proves the effectiveness of my current training knowledge, which I can share with you to develop your own speed for a variety of sports.
As a martial artist, I originally trained in jiu-jitsu / BJJ (Brazilian Top Team, 2004-) and judo (Rubery, 2008-) to blue belt level. More recently I’ve cross trained in contact karate and mma grappling. In my PT I’ve used mainly positional drills and the safest exercises/games. I have portable soft mats, pads and gloves, and a grappling dummy.
Fitness Blog
I’ve done some blogging in the past, and I’ve kept a few of the articles here. I’m hoping to get back into it again when I have more time.
