*UPDATE: it’s finally confirmed! The first ever Cofton parkrun will be on Saturday 8th August 2026!
The new parkrun at Cofton Park will be great news for runners in south Birmingham / north Bromsgrove, who can now have their own local event, after previously having to travel to Cannon Hill or Arrow Valley.
Parkrun is a community event, held at venues all over the country at 9am every Saturday morning. It allows runners of all abilities to complete the course at their own pace, and have their times recorded efficiently online so that they can chart their progress.
My own most recent parkrun was at Arrow Valley, where I ran with a teenage PT client on his first parkrun/5k. Over the years I’ve found parkrun to be a great milestone for clients of all ages to work towards. This has included younger kids that I have trained – they also have the option of the shorter Bromsgrove Junior Parkrun (2k).
